The Original c.1925
The Millennium Hall was built in 1999 following an estimated cost of £265k (that's £510k in 2025) (more than) half of which was raised by the Villagers - no mean feat - and half provided by the National Lottery Millennium Commission.
Tony Smart: "The new Hall actually cost around £450k plus a number of 'gifts in kind', for example Les Hazel did all the woodwork around, and in, the bar area, as his contribution, and there were many others like the W.I. I estimated that the final price was close to half a million (£900k in 2025).
in addition, so many people in the village gave their time in helping with both the written work and practical work during the whole project."
It was opened in 2000.
In 2025 we celebrate the facilities with the many many users whom invite you to join them.
